As most of you know, Governor Bullock announced last week that all public schools in Montana would be closed from March 16 - March 27, 2020. Yesterday he updated that closure through April 10, 2020.  In his mandate he has directed school leaders to develop plans to address the continuation of teaching and learning, providing food to students who qualify for lunch and breakfast programs, how the needs of students with specific needs will be met, and other areas that the school district will provide support for students during this emergency school closure.

Absarokee Public School staff has drafted plans which will be presented to the Trustees at a Special Meeting of the Board at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2020. The Board of Trustees will be asked to approve the proposed plan at that meeting. Prior to finalizing the plan, the Governor has asked for school districts to allow for public input. Once the Board approves the plan, it must be submitted to the Governor’s office no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2020.

We request that you provide any input between now and Thursday, March 26th at 3:00 p.m. so the staff can prepare a finalized proposal for Board consideration during the special meeting scheduled at 7:00 p.m. Read more...
